    About Your Talk

While we will publish this on the website, it can be changed later.

This will be published on the conference website, and can also be changed at a later date.

This will NOT be published on the conference website, and is for advisor review only.

Note: We place a strong emphasis on valuable audience takeaways. Please consider this carefully.

This will help us to group content such that our audience can find your work more readily. Select as many as you like.

E.g. What would you cut to make the talk shorter, or which parts of the talk would you dive into in more detail with a longer timeslot.

Note: By default all talks are recorded and later published on our conference YouTube channel. All recordings are vetted by speakers prior to launch.

You can indicate if the material has been presented at another conference, and feel free to include links to other presentations/talks you have given in the past.

    Visa Requirements

We recommend taking a look at the UK Border Control website which provides information on requirements for entering the country. The border control document tool helps clarify what paperwork you will need to produce at border control, and whether you need to apply for a visa, or an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).

E.g. Estimated time taken for the visa application process. Whether a copy-headed letter from the event organisers is required as proof of invitation.

    Talk Selection and Mentorship

After the deadline, our editorial team reviews all submissions and confirms the final programme. Given the volume we receive, we can’t provide individual feedback on proposals that aren’t selected.

Every accepted speaker is paired with a mentor from the editorial team — someone who can help you understand audience expectations and give feedback on early drafts. We put extra effort into supporting first-time speakers and those with less presentation experience. The better the experience is for you, the better it is for the audience.

A few things that will strengthen your submission:

    1. Lead with takeaways. What will attendees learn? Why does your talk matter to them right now?
    2. Know the library. Browse our YouTube channel to see what we’ve covered before. Does your talk fill a gap, build on existing content, or push the conversation somewhere new?
    3. Focus on the how and why. Studios protect proprietary work — that’s understood. But sharing good practice and lessons learned is what moves the community forward.
    4. If you’re a tools or middleware company, show how your tool works and what value it delivers. Proposals that read as product pitches are unlikely to be selected.
    5. Pitch the weird stuff. Esoteric, niche, or unconventional topics are welcome. Our organisers are also a bit strange. We can relate.
